Five years ago I saw an interesting 70's-ish shortboard leaning against my absentee neighbors indoor garage wall. He said it belonged to a friend who hadn't ridden it in over 15 years (since that's how long it had been in his garage). I asked him to ask his friend if he planned on using it again and my neighbor said he'd get right back to me. So five years later - two weeks ago - he told me his friend said I could have it. It's in fair condition with the biggest repair needed to fix the finbox which had been filled in with resin and a too-small glass fin stuck at the rear of the box. That project is started and I want to ask the readership what you may know about the Challenger Surfboards Platypus - who did the shaping, when, etc. The bottom is clear, and the deck has a goofy acid-splotch yellow/red resin job reminiscent of a crime scene. The only marking on the board other than the decals says "6-10 -- 3722" (or 3122). Any info is welcome. Thanks.
