What a beautiful looking craft - tell us how it goes.......does the perimeter stringer give a diff feel?

Thanks silverback. This board has turned out to be a very nice high performance LB. And yes the perimeter stringers give the board a different feel. Great control, responsive and fast. Nose rides good too.

Perimeter Stringer Hull?

Dennis, How about a perimeter stringered hull? I know flex is something desired in a hull.

Nicely done

So far all is going good. The board has gotten about 12 hours of surf time so far with a few different riders. You can check our three video clips to see what she looks like… small surf but… http://www.drsurfboards.com/Video%20Gallery.htm

curiouser and curiouser. . .

Yeah, I wpuld like to know how that thing rides as well. I am curious as hell to know what a perimiter stringer LB rides like. Nice shape.

I’ve gotten one day with about head high down the line waves so far where I began to feel the flex return after loading a turn. It gave the board some extra drive as I weighted the outside rail to drop down the wave face and set up another turn. Very interesting feel.

...seems that you ve pointed the fins to the tip of the nose, isnt it?

Reply from DennisRyder on 2007-06-19

The forward fins are toed 2 inches off the nose, the trailing fins are not quite parallel and have no cant.

beautiful!

just curious how the quad setup works

Reply from DennisRyder on 2007-06-19

This fin set up gives the board a very smooth driving turn. Turn backs flow nicely and the redirects are seamless. Check the videos at my web site. http://www.drsurfboards.com/Video%20Gallery.htm

Hmmm....

Very sweet. As to the fins, the forward fins look more toed in than the rear. I'm curious how it rides myself. And if it's possible to shape a board like that a little longer (10.0) and wider (24")??

Reply from DennisRyder on 2007-06-19

I’ve got a 9’6 waiting to be laminated. I could do a 10’0, haven’t heard of a problem with a 10’ perimeter glue up.

Very Interesting

Very intriguing idea...
