Surfboard Tracker are pleased to announce from September 08, all manufacturers producing boards with the SBT system can automatically sell their boards unconditionally with insurance provided their customers register their new board on-line.
The registration fee is $15 dollars or 11 Euros depending on the currency of your country, which will include insurance cover for the whole year.
All is conducive to the manufacturers using the SBT system. The SBT system provides a dynamic identity that is unique that is entered on to the SBT system where insurers have access.
When registered the board details entered move over from the shaper to the surfer and sit in his private SBT profile account on the SBT system.
The SBT system is available to all manufacturers who wish to use it. The system also allows for people with more than one board.
The insurance element will initially be available to board riders who reside in Australia, USA, Canada, New Zealand, common wealth countries and Europe.
Other countries are due to come on stream later this year.
This Insurance side of the SBT system will give a distinct advantage to shapers and manufacturers adding greater value to their product.
Andrew Smith of SBT said,
"We see SBT for shapers as an extremely attractive proposition, manufacturers authenticate their product range, manage their licenses effectively, while consumer's can protect with the added incentive of having an anti theft deterrent all in one hit with no fuss".
Smith further said " We will be launching the new SBT retro fit shortly for those who want SBT in their older boards, plus those who have recently registered their boards will be automatically contacted during September when the service goes live".
SBT is an independent organisation and are backed by some serious investors who are aggressively pursuing the market across all extreme board and bike sports.
