"From what I can gather Midget Farelly did most of his own shaping. His boards have a very good reputation in Australia, particularly for their high quality glass jobs. Yours seems typical of most Australian transition boards shaped from late '67 through til early '69. ````If possible, have a look some time at the movie ""The Fantastic Plastic Machine"", in particular the footage (at Palm Beach?) of a comp in late '67/early '68. Midget's riding a board very similar to yours- along with almost everyone else.````I hope that helps."

"I was recently surprised to find out my '68 v-bottom had been stored in an uncle's garage in LI, NY. I surfed there 65-70, moved to Kaua`i in76. He shipped it to me, in great shape. Used it a few times. Have several pictures I can forward. Robert"

"this was my 1st board, given to me by a neighbor in 1975. mine is an 8'-6"" model; I know nothing about it. I searched on the web and wound up here. mine is in very good shape, except ing the fin box, which i changed in 1980 or so to the late model style(smaller box-new style fin-hey,sorry, I was 17 at the time and this was my only stick). anyway, I used it until about 10 years ago, when, every time I took it out, the veterans were asking to buy it....so, i figured I better not risk damaging it..it has been polished and on display next to my 9-6 Hobie 3 stringer(redwood, I think-it's old) in my house here on Long Island. I love it...it certainly is a beautiful board and a testament to the sport that was beginning to move in a different direction at that particular time...there is some pencil markings on the blank that is still legible- if I can be of any help, please contact me- but be patient for a reply- what you read here took mequite some time to compose(if I were a typist,I'd starve to death)-thx,d"
