Sure got a lot of fin options there!!
I am a total noob at SUP, having only tried it a couple of times but those small fins in the center remind me of the concept of a "daggerboard" on the old windsurfers, I wonder if they also would end up working as a turning axis ? Or as they are rather small maybe they just shift the pivot point a little bit? As for the 6 other fins, does this work well in surf? Please describe how they work is it like a doublee-whammy canard set up?
Nice looking sup! May have to try this SUP surfing some more...

Aloha Surfer Dave: Yes! The idea behind the forward fins was much like a daggerboard, having been a yacht designer in a previous life I thought they might help the yawing and possibly serve as a pivot point, although counteracting the yawing was my prime motivation. As far as the six fins are concerned, my thinking was that because the tail was so wide I wanted the rail to be the primary focus for the fins. By using six of them they would feed off each other and really channel the water flow but also help to keep the board on track. Depending on the conditions I can also remove a set or move where the larger set is located allowing the pivot point to be adjusted. I put a center box in just for good measure to allow other combinations to be tried. Really this was considered a test platform for trying out different configurations of fins to find the ones that worked the best! I have used this six fin concept on other SUP boards and the results were very positive. -Robin
