Well, after 3 afternoons worth of effort I have shaped my first board. A little lumpy, but all in all i'm stoked. I am resisting the urge to keep fussing with it, removing scratches, trying to get everything totally even. It seems the more you mess with the blank, the more you need to fix. The board is a mini noserider made from an 8'10"S blank. I used the whole blank, so the board is 8'10" x 21 3/4" with a 17" nose and a 14" pintail. It is probably just under 3" thick. Luckily the blank has nice rocker in it already. I am taking it to be glassed this weekend, hopefully. Is Basham's open on Saturdays? I would like to thank all of the regulars on this sight, the information has been really valuable. I will post pictures when the board is done.
