Guess I broke the board when I posted this on Saturday huh? Kinda weird how some posts worked and some didn't. Anyway... I did a longboard fabric nose inlay and used an excellent tip passed on by Mike D. I believe. I scribed a light outline for the inlay, taped the outline off and laminated the cloth into the outline. The hot tip was to shut down the overhead lights and use a flashlight (I used a 500K. rechargeable halogen Q-Beam) to backlight from underneath while cutting the easily visible tape line. Great idea! Now no worries with pattern or density of the cloth you choose. I used some really cheap/thin tape and had some difficulty in the darker areas of the pattern of the cloth I was using. Wondering if the 3M Blue painter's masking tape is stable with polyester resins? Anyone use this tape successfully? Tom S.
