I found myself putting my two cents worth into one of these political things and regretted it as soon as I posted. So from now on I try to stay out of it unless its something with humour. But then again asking Mike to be a "censor" may kinda putting him on the spot. It's a tough call boys....Happy Holidays...R.B.

I think Mike does enough w/out asking him to be a moderator/editor/censor as well. I'd suggest that instead of relying on him to babysit the threads, a little bit of help by everybody can do the job. Basically, if someone gets off track, just a) ignore them or b) try to steer the discussion back to surfboards! This is the best web site ANYWHERE for surf stuff -- let's help Mike keep it that way!! Aloha
Even supposed "members" of the Swaylocks community care more about advancing their political agendas than seeing Swaylocks survive. I was merely stating facts about the requirements of forum success, as I see them. The people who don't care if Swaylocks fails don't care. You can't change that. Somebody has to take the innitiative. If someone starts getting in the face of people with political agendas, that will be acrimonious too. But I'm willing to try it your way. If it's too much of a burden for the moderator, what about some of you guys who don't like controversy? ...nah. Easternpacific, speaking for the responsible meembers of Swaylocks... Shut up about politics or LEAVE! I mean it.
Dear Noodle, The last thing I want to do here at Swaylocks is talk politics. Believe me. The first thing I did when reading your response was look up the word acrimonious. It's a great word. So, true to the point, I got in the last word, politically speaking. I'd probably never win the debate club sparing with you, that's for sure. I think you might look good by turning the mirror around and look who' there. Your strict political confrontational style is asking for acrimonious responses. Calling people jerks , and acting like a dictator don't cut it on my block. Maybe Mr. Mike will put me in time-out ,but I don't think so. Swaylocks will survive just fine w/or w/out you, or me. I personally feel it's none of your business delving out rules of engagement. Nothing will fail ,it just won't be your way. Mike's pretty cool about letting things flow along. I don't think I ever made political comments here w/o your straight hard line jargon leading the way. I have too many friends and loved ones who are dead because of fucking stupid wars in far away places. If that makes me acrimonious so be it. If that exiles me for here , fine.
so well and so often have convinced me you're such a great guy . .. but sometimes . .. babe you just come off so aaaaaannnnnnnnnngggggggrrrrrrreeeeeyyy - we all have dents . .. . you are a great guy . ... . when you start protecting whatever it is you think needs protecting . ... tell yourself . .... us out here think you're a great guy without the protection
Again, this is what I'm talking about. Nobody here wants the disharmony of politics, least of all Mike our host. So everybody raises a stink about the "political argument", but nobody complained in the hours after people started them. I said, if the host doesn't want political arguments then the host should stop them as they start. Posters disliked taking advantage of our hosts generosity so much as to suggest he should pay the price of labor in order to keep the site clean of politics. I said fine, you want it done, but nobody wants to do it. ...so I did it ...and caught grief. Politics has nothing to do with course of this forum. If you wanna talk politics, go to another forum. If you want harmony, somebody's gotta pay.
and so on the thread goes when will it end nobody knows.
and that she blows
