Huie that was a fairly succinct analysis of our situation for someone on the other side of the world.
One thing though, the 47% was misrepresented. The actual number of people that don't pay any taxes is far lower than that. Other than that, I can't argue with you. Well stated.
I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. Corporations have been enthroned, an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money-power of the country will endeavor to prolong it's reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until the wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed.Lincoln, Abraham
"Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes it's laws" — Mayer Amschel Bauer Rothschild
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. Already they have raised up a monied aristocracy that has set the government at defiance. The issuing power (of money) should be taken away from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs." — Thomas Jefferson, U.S. President.
So who's going to win? And how will the next four years go in the US, and what does that mean for the rest of the world? Happy daze or broom and gloom?
It's a two party dictatorship, it doesn't matter one in the same, you have no choice. This contry is not run by the people, it's run by corperations, big banks and the military industrial complex. They all have their people in every major department and branch making the laws, the two stooges you see are just puppets.
Just and example. There are so many former Mosanto high ups entrenched in the FDA and the Dept of Agriculture. Arguably the most evil company on the planet. The ones that brought us agent orange, GMO foods, aspartame and deadly pesticides are going to tell you what is safe for you to eat hahahahaaaa. It's like this in every aspect of govt, it's impossible for us people to govern ourselves because of the revolving door between these huge corperations and govt, they set the agenda not us. The only power you have is in your local community thats it.
Look around you. "Communities" are populated and supported by small business. Yes big banks and big evil corporations exist. So does big ugly intrusive government. My question for Obama has always been this: What's his end game? What does this country and it's people of small communities and businesses gain? Why is it better to capitulate and propose that we are diminished as a country...as a people? Wealth and generosity have fed more hungry children and freed more people than any form of government. But some forms of governing punish the success of hard work and risk taking that generates wealth.
Put aside the politics for a moment; the reality of my life in small business these past four years has been of pure survival. We had to lay off 30% of our workers and still cannot bring them back. We have been just scooting along the bottom...while insurance costs have skyrocketed, energy costs have skyrocketed, banks won't loan us capital and we have been ruthlessly investigated by three different government agencies. All three of which had massive hiring these past four years. All of them left without finding one damn thing "wrong" with our finances or our personnel policies. These little fishing expeditions cost us valuable capital, time and personnel costs.
When the local kids come to me for donations for little league I have to turn them away.
When the local churches come to me for donations to help needy families, I have to turn them away.
My employees haven't been able to contribute to their 401k plans, many have had to take loans that they can't pay back to their plans.
Most of our people have had to drop their family health and life insurance plans because they cannot afford it. They are relying soley on the single health care plans we pay for and the 10k life policies also.
I am personal friends with many other small business owners in our town and surrounding counties and they all tell me the same stories. We are litterally holding our breath right now. We cannot move forward under these circumstances!
Those of you who say you're not voting because all politicians suck, well I get that, I really do. But many of you who say that actually voted for this president.
I ask you simply this....you voted for change....it didn't work out...vote for change again! Could it really be worse than what we have experienced so far...really!!!!
I am a patriot, a veteran, and a bad fucking guy because I have worked my ass off and been very lucky and blessed to have some level of success in my life. My 10 year old grandson actually broke into tears the other day. My daughter brought him to my office to see me. He said "Poppy I never see you anymore". You see I've had to choose between keeping this business afloat and 60 people working or having a quality family life. Things are so fucking tight that I simply have to keep on top of it every waking hour. I hope that it's worth it. I hope they can understand and forgive me someday.
