Hi Eef thanks for the compliments. I wish I could be as prolific as you.
Do you know, I never even rode this board!. The gentleman who bought it has put it into storage until summer:( the board is a variation on my b3 template which I am really happy with. It is 3 inches longer (the buyer was over 6ft) and with more rounded rails. The original had sharper rails 50/50 at nose to 60/40 at the tail. I have also managed to bring the weight down although this is not an issue in the water. It also has a leash plug!!
As for the ride...it beats riding a sponge bodyboard. It will look after you paddling out, bottom turns, trims and comes back off the lip beautifully. I am sure a good rider could make it sing! and riding on wood as you know is something else...its crisp and responsive and I love the sound of the board on water.
A board with the same dimensions as a bodyboard will be much more buoyant. This is a mistake I made with my first two boards - you don't need that thickness. My rails are now 3/4 to 1 inch and I'm still thinking of thinner!I added a single concave to the back third of this board and even more on the balsa board (check the pictures on the website).
Cheers
Andy
