can anyone help me with setting account so i get email alerts on new comments made on forum posts that i have posted or forum posts that i have commented on?
Not sure about email notifications, but if you use this page as your portal into the site, you can easily check to see which threads have new posts since you last read.

Long ago, I used to get email notifications telling me I had a new PM at Sways.
That was a nice feature that kept you from having to log in to check for PMs.
