retrofit rail channels and general ding repair / tune-up, filling in the dents on the bottom also
#2 You like it like that...
I mean the rails
I would rather be someone's shot of whiskey, than everyone's cup of tea.
Am I bored?
Do I like my rails on this board?
Do I like rail channels?
For more info search archives or google "rail channels" or "deck channels". I think some people even call them "thumb channels". They have also been called "love handles", but I don't recommend you google that, lol!
I like them for hanging onto the board through a wave, grabbing a board and climbing back on after a wipeout, and just general handling. Some people talk about their role in strengthening or stiffening a board, but those are not concerns of mine, and I don't think they do anything for paddling or surfing per se.
The retrofit was easier than expected, just sanded them in like I did with the raw foam, only it was a little more work to get through the glass.
the WS looks more interesting....

I love the deck channels and like em x1000 better because you went back and put them in after... Just because you can! epic.
I get stoked on that stuff…
Stoked for you.
Brave cutting into a a board like that! But looks like it turned out great!
Keep it coming Huck, I always like to see what you are getting up to. I was going to post a message of encouragement on your photo thread, but its nice to see that thread with pure photos without any of my waffling.
