Got inspired by Barry Snyder's agave shapes and tried one..What a nightmare! After a bunch of trial and error, however it came out well. 5'9" x 22 x 2 1/2, low rocker. Flat entry to single to double concave, vee out tail.

Yup, we've had some dialogue regarding agave over on the Industry section. A fellow in Spain wanted to set up as a provider and felt it was far superior to balsa. I'm currently developing my product line to include chambered Ecuadorean balsa boards vs. diving into the agave market. As you suggest, it's more a challenge than not. That being said, props to you for your initiative! BF

Any line on paulownia supplies in California? I'd love to try it but having a hard time finding suppliers

I feel like balsa is alot more consistent in hardness, consistency, and strength, years less too. Much easier for fine tuning. That being said agave is lighter if you pick the right trees, and way better looking. Agave shaping is like dating a super hot chick with a terrible attitude!
