For no other reason than it looks cool, 6oz carbon/kevlar+4oz E-glass bottom, 6oz carbon/kevlar + 6oz E-glass top. 2# Molded EPS blank. finished eight was 2.35kg, the board is 5'11'' x 19'' x 2 3/8''.
I learned a lot from that one. I wet the cloth out on a table then rolled up and onto the board, then cut the deck to the rail edge when it was wet. Next one I'll tape at the bottom rail edge and try and cut when green. kevlar doesn't like being cut or sanded ha ha It shaved pretty well when hard with a microplane blade.
Plugs went in last, they gassed a lot, which was annoying.
Marsh, I like what you did. I've been afraid to tackle kevlar for its legendary cutting problems. But cutting green along the rail line seems like a good approach. Would love to hear how it holds up.

Shot paint this weekend, not sure I like how it came out. Might sand it off and try again or might just glass it and live with it. Now just have to figure out the fin set up. I want to set it up as a quad but also with a center box to be able to run a 2+1.
the prob with trying for multi fin boxes is that none are the right place for the various setups you want. Make a quad and put twins in it and the fins are in the wrong position. Make a 5 box set up and unless you run it as a quad plus 1, nothing else works. Just my two cents.

Looks good!
How did the fin box installation go?
Marsh, love that. And yeah, how did the fin install go? I see you trimmed the lap at the rail apex, sort of. How did that go? Taped it then bagged it?
The over lap looks super clean.

Yes, Kevlar is a pain. Without it, I may never have started to look into additive manufacturing of fins.
