Yes it is. Swirls and cut laps on top of swirls. Then black pinlines.
Me gusta, that looks sick. How long did it take you to tape off all those pin lines?
Mmmm it didn't take that long (an hour max and I took my time, pretty sure you could it in 30 mins, even less if you've been doing this for a living) to tape but removing the tape was the problem. So much tape you cannot pull off everything at the same time like you would do with a normal pinline, you know, like you pull off almost as soon as you are done with the brush). So what I did is that I intentionally did the wrong thing to avoid the worst. I just let it cured to when it is hard, knowing I would have a lot of cleaning to do after. I messed up so many pinlines in the past that I kind of learnt how to clean them quick and accurately). In the end it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be :), next time I would probably try to do this differently and in stages instead of shooting the pinlines all at once. It would take as much time if not more, but It would remove the cleaning step :)
green room epoxy resin final coat on 9'7" x 32" SUP and 5'10" x 19" single fin.
Very nice bb30.
Will you sand and polish that final coat of GR epoxy?

Yes Stoneburner, this is now ready to sand and polish or sand and urethane spray. The finish comes out so nice you can start at 180 or higher on the sanding.
this is my sand and urethan spray
Don't know how to add comments between photos
sand start and finish at 180grit. Sanded finish looks great also.
Wash with soap and water and rinse
Use appropriate size needle in gun for viscous urethane
spayed urethane 6 coats each side(10-15 min dry between coat).. Do one side late in day for max hot house effect and let dry overnight. do the side next day
Urethane coating feels like a golden coral salad bar sneeze shield during flu season
Foam pad sanding 1000grit. Takes maybe 5 minutes per side. Board will become VERY slick, as in flying off the rack slick. Using high grit sandpaper will be a fail. Foam pad only
Left the surfboard industry a little over 10 years ago because I joined the military and recently decided to try shaping some boards again for fun. This is the second board I have shaped since joining.
Amazing mate. This really caught my eye. Do you have any tips on the leash loop. Is it simply roving added after the laminations are done?
Yes, It's just roving. You can put it on before your hot coat or after you sand your hot coat. Recommend before for better bonding. Use a plastic straw for support to make the bridge/ hole when you lay it up.
The resin opaque in gloss/polish always looks great, but so do the lines in your shape. So you obviously have still got it.
