So 64 that makes the truster or 3 fins
54 years old.
Somewhere out there a simple though stuck in someones head?
My god! 54 years... Damn boy we are old.
And you are 2 humble.
Aloha Master Bill
Aloha Matt,
The blue tri-fins above, are examples of the PressLock fin system, which I created in October of 1970. The fins required no tools, screws, or pins. (The 1964 Tri-Fin, was done as glass-ons) The ''box'' was formed during the glassing process. The system could also be mounted in an existing finished board too. I used them on Surf Systems, and Surfboards Hawaii. Dewey Weber was the first major manufacturer to step up and use them. He was quickly followed by G&S, Hobie, Bing and others, in 1971.
Bill - correct me if I’m wrong but I seem to recall a conversation we had about the trifin board and the first one you did, thinking you were possibly the first (or atleast very early to the game) - then seeing an old photo (from the early 50’s) years later, of a guy walking down to (maybe pv cove?) the beach with a trifin. Nothing new under the sun haha.

Actually it was a late '30's or early '40's photo. I think it was 4 guys, posing with their planks, leaning against the cliff. (possibly PV Cove) One of the planks had 3 small half moon fins across the stern of the board. It blew me away.
Just sayin' here...
From my experience NEVER assume you started something new...
39 years ago after I saw my first thruster, I mussed to myself "well I'll do four"
Just forgot that Blake and Velzy, or some old hawaiian had gone before!!!
One heck of a board though...
