That's a clean looking board, my friend. Good job. I'm glad to see you didn't have any trouble with the UV+color.
Also, I had never heard of the battery trick, so thanks for that.
Have not used "One Shot Lettering Enamel". I will have to look into it. Although there are lots of options when it comes to pinline. I split blanks using a Skilsaw. I mark a straight line at center or off set from nose to tail on the bottom. Make a pass/cut at full depth. Then I flip the blank over with the deck up. The cut goes all the way thru at each end, but not the middle. I then take my 8' straight edge and connect the two cuts with a straight line. Then I make another cut at full depth accross the deck connecting the cuts at each end. That splits the blank with a clean cut. The trickiest part is lining up the second cut with the first cut. Easier to do the bottom first because of the rocker and length of the Skilsaw. You can follow the bottom rocker and the cut goes thru at nose and tail. Then you only have to cut the center on the deck connecting the cuts. Some guys hand saw the middle, but I like the clean cut a Skilsaw leaves. Yes you can do a cut lap with UV. I guess the secret is out. Lowel
That which can be assorted without evidence was read in an illegal magazine.
Thanks gdaddy, I appreciate it! I did add 1cc of cat per 12oz of tinted resin for the three colors just to make sure I'd get a full cure overnight.
I cooked the top for about 2 minutes, just enough time to set up my racks with some wax paper. I flipped it and only did 30 seconds for the lap side. By the time I got done cutting the lap it was hardening up pretty good. I'm sure it had some UV bouncing underneath when cooking the top so 30 seconds was perfect.
6'3 and 7'3 / Ready for the water!
Wow the bottom lams on those are super cool bigred, especially with the hints of blue on that single fin.
Finally finished this. 5'7" ish. Relative to its predecessor it has more outline curve, a flatter entry rocker into a more curvy tail rocker, a skinnier tail, it's overall thinner, the rail apexes are higher, it sports a tucked edge bottom to offset the width to some extent and it's now sherbert flavored instead of creamsicle. It's kinda like if you took a roundtail then jsut squashed off the last little bit of it. Waves got cancled this week so testing eventually...
Boards shaped: 8
thanks! is that carbon stripping you put in there? I've heard that all of the big name board companies that use those or variations of them basically make it impossible to get. my friend's repair shop is doing one and she needs to utilize the old strip
Yeah it's carbon. I got it from foamez no problems. Although maybe supply has dwindled with the virus?
I actually had extra so I just went for the tail patches cause like why not?
