For those that are wondering what the answer to the original question is, it’s yes. You can cut gelled resin/CF with a razor blade. Just make sure your timing is good or it can be pretty tough.
As an epoxy guy i mostly do the grinder on masking tape cured resin tech. Work with carbon, multi layers of différent color masking tape, but carbon is not pleasant to grind, itchy black powder that spread everywhere…

Yes to timed cut-lap, no to grind-lap as it’s a mess like Mat says. Last one I did was a free-lap lap and I got some funky fraying of the edge of the carbon carbon fiberunderneath the cap layer of fiberglass cloth that was laminated at the same time.
