Board repair/restoration in Florida

Per my other thread I’ve been talking with a good friend of the late Don Bennett. He has the fifth board ever made under the Surfboards by Don label. The board is messed up and he’s looking to get it restored. His concern is any historical value in the board and if restoration is worth it. Anybody got a recommendation?

For such a small time, local label I doubt it has a lot of historical value in the grand scheme of things. I would sand it out, fix the dings, then a new gloss coat.

Most so-called restorations are bullshit, anyway.
