Lynch 2+1 egg as single fin

Hi,

I bought tvid 6’0 egg (15 3/8 tail). I wanted to surf it as a single fin but I think the fin box is too far back?  I could use it at 5 3/4 as with my bonzer 5 but  not much more to go. Ehat di you think? I have a 7,5"   and a 8,5" fin. I didn’t get the lokbok screws/plates. What’s the fiameter og lokbox screws?

If you wanted to surf it as a singlefin you could try an upright elliptical fin like the Starfin that Cheyne Horan was surfing on his McCoys back in the day.

Or have one of the finmakers fab one up without the wings.   I think those fins are more about pivoting than carving.

IIRC one of the selling points for the Lok-Box system was that they used an off-the-shelf screw.  I don’t know, but I’m wondering if maybe you could grind down a regular finplate to fit the notch on those fins.  If you can even find the fins.

Problem solved.   The OP is covered.

Thank you. My plan b is fitting my set og fcs fiberglass GX sidebytes. Molding the base to fit the lokbox attach a carbon og fiberglass “plate” so the plate is tha same body as the fin. Measured yesterday an the base is 2mm wider in lokbox.

I will try to surf it as a single with the smaller fin too but I don’t think is donna work.
