Five fin placement preformance mini simmons style/hybrid surboard

Hi Guys!

I know there are a number of similar topics but didnt find the right things yet.

I am already far in the proces of shaping this board and at the point of placing the finboxes. I have no experience with the shape and want to get the most out of it. That way i would like tot  put 5 finboxes in i’m but not sure if this is the best option. I want it to ride it as a twin with or without a stabalisor or as a qaud. The goal is to have plenty of drive and be playfull as well. Stil want  to go vertical with it so a balance between those two im looking for.

What do you guys think?!

Already thanks!

Greetings,

Tijn

Most surfshops are doing five fin setups.

Look around they are pretty standard now TRI with quad style setup as well.

You can set it as a tri or quad.

You can set it as a tri, or twin.

But if you do it as a tri/twin, it won’t work as a quad.  If you put trifin fronts,  and then another set in the twin fin position, the fins cluster too close together.  Thed back fins are in t he turbulence of the front set, and it will bog badly, and feel like you are dragging an anchor.
