Fin DRIVE System

What is the purpose of your post? You want to know our opinion?

Well I don't think we need something like that... May be I am wrong... Most boards I do now are twin, quads or twinzers, most problems I have is to make them turning less... 

That fin looks like it would be counterintuitive. It would create very bad surfing habits in my not so humble opinion. Good luck with your venture and don't forget to eat Spam musubi every morning.

Anything posted that involves money solicitation or product promotion, regardless of intent, will be viewed as Spam by most Sways members. 

With a little tweaking, you have a legitimate "concept to discuss."  You could easily copy/paste relevant text from your Kickstarter page.  From that perspective;

"Swaylocks Surfboard Design Forum: thoughts & theories ... practical & theoretical."

I'm going to try this explanation one more time.   

I'm the moderator who brought it to your attention that posts which can be construed (by our users) as marketing or advertising for profit or gain belong in this section (surfshop), not the General Discussion forum, and that I didn't want you to get scorched by the others for it.   So that's all on me.  I'm the responsible party for that, not anyone else.  Note that I tried to frame the issue within the context of what others percieve, not as an accusation as to your intent.    I also explained to you that we have previously moved other threads for the same reason.   If you have interpreted that explanation as me being hostile to what you're trying to do then all I can say is that wasn't my intent and I'm sorry if you think otherwise.   

You have not been singled out for criticism here or treated differently than others before you.  FYI, we normally just delete the users who post outright spam here but your post was actually surf-related so I attempted this other approach.    .  

I tried to explain that we're interested in your ideas, just as we're interested in anyone else's ideas and input; and that if you wanted to engage in discussion about it then that's what the General Discussion forum is about.  Nobody is trying to run you out of here or otherwise discourage your participation.  I even retained your original post with your original links and comments because I DIDN'T want you to get mad and quit.  That's why I moved the thread to the more appropriate forum and deleted my own comments in the thread.   

You have some design ideas going here, and as with any design some participants here will have more interest in discussing it than others.  You shouldn't take any naysayers personally, that's just what's typical in such discussions.   The veteran posters here routinely disagree with each other and they don't tend to take the sensitive, caring and nurturing approach when they do it.   

I would like to personally invite you to stay and participate however you see fit, except that we're still not going to allow posts which can be construed as marketing in the General Discussion forum.    That's about the best I can do for you.   

If you're still upset that your ideas didn't receive the enthusiastic embrace and you want to depart that's on you.   All you have to do is stop posting and stop logging in.  Then whatever discussion occurs here will bother you no more.  In either case we wish you well in your business development, your design development, your board building and your surfing.    .    

At the risk of antagonizing you I'd like to point out that you only got 3 comments which commented at all on the general idea, which you didn't really explain in detail in your post, nor respond directly to their comments and questions.   The traffic here isn't so heavy that 2-3 days of exposure will reach as many members as will a week or two.   

The other point of interest which you may or may not realize is that a rotating fin assembly isn't a new idea here by any means.   I can think of at least a couple other people from years ago who were using a rotating fin assembly for either a singlefin or a center in a thruster combo.   As I recall, one member here was actually selling fin boxes for it.  So that prior exposure may be playing a part in how people are reacting to this newer iteration.  Or not.  It's hard to say.   

If you want to drop an explanation in here and engage in some back-n-forth discussion I'd imagine you'll get some action. We have members here who have not been around long enough to have seen or considered the prior iterations, so I think you'll probably find an audience here.    On the other hand, if you're not interested in a discussion then that's okay too.   

The one thing I think can predict with some confidence is that you probably won't be winning a whole lot of converts to your ideas by assuming everyone here is lame.   People can be funny that way.

I don't generally respond to hostile posts like yours.  I'm making an exception.  You made no effort to discuss anything.  Your immediate responses were defensive and combative.

There are a lot of gifted and skilled members here.  Your response is more than a little insular and elitist.

You sound like an entrepreuner who is so in love with his own idea that he can't accept that rational people won't like it.  Discussion allows inventors and entrepreneurs to identify problems and adapt.

I recently patented surfcraft tech of my own.  The individual who shaped and glassed the prototype for me wanted to post the build here on Sways.  I agreed.  And while I was certain there would be criticism and doubt, I knew I could glean a few pearls of insight from interactive dialogue with other members.

While I'm confident my ideas will work, I certainly did not expect to receive accolades, affirmation and community adulation.

I truly hope you succeed.  But if this is how you react to negative and lukewarm input, you've got a long uphill road ahead of you.

Basically, you wanted instant status in the lineup with no significant interaction with established members...
