Triplane hull Finished!

Thanks for the responses on the gloss coat question earlier. After learning it wasn’t necessary for structural reasons I opted to forego the gloss coat so she is done!

Stoked on it!

7 x 22 x 3. Flat entry to belly to soft vee to flat. After shaping the belly and soft vee I put the triplane into the belly/vee.

Has 3.75” NR and 2.5” TR (hoping that’s enough for the punchy beach breaks.

I ended up using left over cloth so she got glassed heavier than normal. 6/4 top with 4/4 bottom. I was planning to do side boxes, but really wanted to run as single and was trying to find ways to save a little weight after the heavier glass schedule. Fin Box is slightly up at 8”.

Was originally thinking of running a 8.5-9” flex (liddle wide base perhaps) but others have recommended the Dobson so I will experiment with the go to 4a, flex and Dobson.

lookin’ good hoss!

Flex fins are good in small to medium wave sizes, but they’ll wash out under you in bigger conditions.  Particularly when mounted further forward.

Thanks gdaddy… thinking I’ll run a flex on those days and perhaps a 4A on those bigger days!!
