PU blanks soft core

I remember back in the day, the Clark blanks had the hard crust and got softer and softer the deeper into the blank you shaped.  I had some pretty badly dented boards because of over shaping.

I’ve recently begun to use PU blanks again after 15 years of EPS.  It’s nice to use (US blanks).  I’m wondering if the new polyurethane blanks still have that problem (soft core) and how deep you can shape before you get to weak foam?  Especially working the rails, you’re cutting pretty deep into the blank.

Thanks for the expertise.

NO!  AND;   You make Clark Foam sound like mashed potatoes below the surface, which is absolutely not true.
