Ding repair (unsure about dent)

Hey all, 

I got my first ding and I picked up a Cure All kit to patch it. The only thing I’m worried about is the dent in the board that’s on the right side of the ding ( the side closer to the tail). Is there anything I should do to ensure that there aren’t any gaps under the glass I add / anything I can do to make sure the repair is smooth. The last picture shows the dent. I appreciate for any help!

Sand the general area back beyond the area your cloth patch will cover.  Using a screwdriver or knife, pry up the dented edge of the torn glass so that it is as even or flush as possible.  Fill with Q-cell mixture.  Sand flush.  Cover with 4 or 6 oz. patch.  Hot coat and sand.
