George Tracey joins riders in the sky

I had a great pic of George that I took when we met at the bottom of Jalama Road last year and I gave him his new board. But in the interest of time, i wanted to post this in timely fashion. George was a long time Santa Barbara surfer of talent and likeability that passed away about two weeks ago after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He had a great sense of humor and regularly traveled to Hawaii, Oz, Bali, and back to his home in Santa Barbara. He was a loyal friend to his friends and a kind heart to all. In his late fifties, George was still a very accomplished surfer that always made a respectable showing in the water.

Pancreatic cancer is freqently diagnosed in the very late stages of the disease because it is so difficult to detect. George decided to spend his last days getting his business in order by givng away his quiver and car and other belongings while staying with friends on Maui. He will be missed in this world and welcomed to the next.

Long may you ride brother.
