Hi, I will not be selling the board but am curious to what it is exactly and its value as I hear they are rare.
It is a G and S Skip Frye Longboard and is in real good shape, dont even think it has a ding in it. Not super white, but not super faded or yellowed either. It does not appear to have any writing on the stringer anywhere, but on top does have a dark eagle looking logo and says Skip Frye.
It has a black glassed in fin, which appears to be original and never tampered with. I mainly ride a 6/6 but will ride this on some glassy days.
I dont have pics yet, but thought this info would give you some ideas. it is probably like a 9/6 as it barely fit in my shed next to my 9/3.
It also appears to have a redwood or cherry colored stringer, no stripes or other details, the G and S logo is on top and appears to be black font only.
Thanks in advance, Tim

Only pic so far, is logo under dirty wax.

Jeesh Bud.... you'll have to do better than that.
A good used Frye, G&S or otherwise, is easy to sell on the open market. They usually get pretty good prices. There may be a premium for the G&S as it would be considered a vintage board.
Someone like SammyA or Doc will likely know more if you can provide more details, better pics and maybe info on any notation or numbers on the stringer.
There is no writing on the stringer anywhere or on the board. I cleaned it and took some quick pics, looks like someone notched the fin a little, also one or two small dings that have been fixed but overall is in good shape I would say, never any major damage or repairs.
Here are some pictures, more to come.

The black stuff at the front of the fin is just some gummy schmegma I have yet to remove.
More pics...the logos are real clear, just took this with a camera phone this morning.

I did find numbers on the stringer during the second cleaning, they are 175 10439

It appears to be the 9/3 to 9/4 that was indeed made from 1965 to 1968 according to the information on this page. It has the correct logo to be this board I believe:

I am thinking about selling this as I need some money for another endeavor, would like to see it go to someone who can display it nice and appreciate it's history.
What do you think the real world dollar value would be today?
thanks, Tim
thanks in advance for any thoughts on this
Hi Tim -
It appears to be a nice board but prices on used boards seem to be on the low side right now. I was in a couple of shops recently and checked some prices... quite a few used boards had been marked down by as much as 25% or more.
Maybe try contacting Bird's Surf Shed in San Diego? http://birdssurfshed.com/
