I don't know about you guys, but many years ago when I learned to surf we often started on pop-outs. They were usually heavy and crude. Somewhere along the way Bic and NSP came along. By then I was riding 'real' surfboards and dismissed them as 'entry level' boards. Looking back I was pretty arrogant. These days I ride composit constructed boards (lets not start that one off again though) and have recently had my attention drawn to the 9,4" Bic Nat young model. A friend told me to log onto You Tube and watch the review for this board. Tony Channin rode it and raved about it. The bottom contours seem to resemble those of the Walden magic model. Super tough and yet not as light as some epoxy composits so a little more built-in momentum. Also a little easier in off-shore/windy conditions I guess.
Before some of you start laughing and posting sneering comments I wondered if anyone out there has had experience of riding this board.
I'm not some beginner or kook, just an old longboarder keeping an open mind.
I'd appreciate your comments.
Thanks.
I've never ridden the board, BUT I just watched the review on Youtube and it looks like a really fun board. In my personal opinion, I don't really care how the board was made or if it is an 'entry level' board, as long as I'm having fun and surfing well that's all that matters. From the video, this board seems like it would be a great board and one that I would surf regularly. If I was in the market for a longboard I would definitely get this board, for sure!!!
Thanks mate, that's exactly what I thought. Think I might have to save up for one!
Bic boards are a cut above surftech,,,,much stronger.......and Rooster is one of the best shapers ,.......they would last for many years , so , good value I reckon....( not much similarity to a Waldon though)
