Looking for balsa and foam boards shaped and glass by this father and son. Boards will have lams that were on velzy and jacops boards, business cards "surfboards by gomes and a diamond shape with "surfboards by gomes". If you dont want to sell the board the family would like to take a picture of it to be included in a family photo album.
The very 1st Surfer Magazine that came out in ʻ60-ʻ61 had an unreal shot of Allen Gomes noseriding somewhere in So Cal, Hermosa Beach I think; really fine photo, heʻs trimming on the nose in the curl of a 3ft. wave; was an inspirational foto for this 14 year old grom at the time; Sevo probably shot it; it was his mag and he ruled the photo dept; never knew the Gomes family though; kinda thought they were transplanted Hawaiians living in So Cal…is this true??..fond memories!!!
