There was a memorial service for Legendary surfer Russ Takaki today at Kuhio Beach, Waikiki. Russ was 92 years old. He was one of the first judges to judge the Makaha Open many years ago. He also judged surf meets on the north shore of Oahu and Peru. He was loved by all who knew him.
Of the many good things that Russ, will be remembered for, I believe, by many that his attitude towards people, will be remembered the most. He was a considerate, easy-going and kind human being. That is the legacy, that he leaves to all.
