  1. What thickness of wood is best for fins?

  2. What types of wood are best to use?

  3. How do you make multiwood fins? (designs in the fin with different wood)

  1. Depends on what you are making them for, center, glass on, keels, Tri Fin sets, FCS Style, keychains. etc 1/2 inch is good for longboard style centers

  2. Most woods that are not naturally oily are good. Balsa, Basswod, Redwood, Oak, Cedar Ash, Walnut, Mohagany Etc etc

  3. Wood…Glue, Miter saws, compound saws, bechtop planers, scroll saws band saws and Imagination.

I want to start making them for longboards as well ass short boards, all glass on. What would be the appropriate thickness for thoes? for shortboards (tri fins, and keels)

Just had a cheap fcs-compatible fin in my hands, thickness was 6mm. Keels are usually a bit thicker.
