You're not alone.
This glitch has appeared before, and has apparently made a comeback.
I can access home page, and several other pages, but not general discussion.
I can find a thread from a link at the bottom of the home page, or if I can find it using search. I can click the Discussion tab above, and all the folders show up, I can click the one thread link under General Discussion. Otherwise, I just can't access threads in General Discussion.
I have pm'd Mike Paler about the problem, and he's been to the site recently, so I would say he's working on a solution, just a matter of being patient until it gets fixed.
Same for me. It has been going on since early this morning. Still going on now. This ''new'' Swaylock's, is a far cry from the ''old'' one. And, not in a good way! Hopefully, these growing pains will produce a working site in the end. Mikes creation of Swaylocks is as much a part of surfing history as any surfboard design breakthrough. And as such, deserves to work properly.
Working on this fellas. Please hang in there.
....your avitar is , indeed , some good advice , mike !

Guys,
Should be back to normal now.
Bill, I find it funny and perhaps a compliment that people get so pissed when shit goes wrong with Swaylock's. Yes, the migration has been bumpy but that's just the way it goes when you have a non-profit site being run by a few people on their spare time. Alas, if you had the slightest sense of what's going on behind the scenes on a site even as simple as Swaylock's you'd probably be sending me checks instead of grief. The best analogy I can give is that upgrading forum software is like trying to change the engine of a car while it's running. It's that, or you have to put it the garage for a few weeks or even months.
I've been engineering websites for over 15 years now. One of the few things I truly know from that time is that people hate change. Change is constant. It's only data & information that never changes. What Swaylock's has just gone though is significant. The results will be felt for years to come. You'll see that. Implementing that change is significant as well. It cost me a lot of $$ and time to migrate the site software, something that was 100% necessary and will give us years of run time.
Swaylock's is a work in progress - there are some more bugs out there. Many I know about, some I don't. I count on you folks to report those to me. The best way to do that is via a PM with a nice description of what you were trying to do (links are always helpful) and the error messages, if any, you received.
I do read them, and I try to get to them as soon as I can. Sometimes it may take me weeks.
Enjoy!!
Mike
