Just a honest question. I'm not looking to stir up controversy.
I've seen a lot of Takayama boards for sale in SoCal. Asking price for some of these boards is over $1000...especially those actually shaped by Donald Takayama vice a ghost shaper.
My question is "why"? I get that the guy was legendary in the SoCal scene, but what makes his boards more desireable over some of the other local shapers who have been in the business for 30 years?
This is in no way meant ot be disrespectful to Takayama. I'm just looking for everyone's opinion.
