" Just because you built 2000 boards, does it make you better?"
Yes.
Shape 2000 boards.
Then open your mouth.
I did, and I'm still learning a lot from guys like Bill and others here.
I'm sick with your self-sufficient posts. And I know I'm not the only one. Learn humility and humor. I stopped posting on the french forum "Shaperoom" because of a guy like you. All you're doing is driving experienced people out. These people were here first and they are very much needed.
The OP did use the planer model in the thread title, but I didn't see anywhere asking for advice, just a guy sharing the fruits of his labor, which is looking pretty doggone good so far.
Cool project! Triple stringer, cut up and glued up with two blue tint stringers. A longboard blank, 9'9", designed by Bruce Jones, nice relaxed rocker, red (light!) density - for the test pilot, or the personal quiver? I'm guessing the latter. Will it have the monster full length channels Matty is famous for? Will it be a Matty board, or a Malibu Classics? Hoping this thread will continue to focus on this project, and mapping the progress with pics and commentary.

huck - I was not giving advice! I was only making a suggestion! He said he wanted to keep his baby pretty. Why? Keep it nice for a buyer?! Why not use it for you!
Ok, Huck do we all have to be little mice and wait for your approval before we have something to say here? Fyi - what I said was an opinion. It's also a forum. I was not offering help, but rather, just stating an opinion. Why don't you mind your own business. I was only trying to give a hint. Why even own a skil100 if you don't have it setup right. You may as well own my stock planer. If you guys dont get my hint - then you don't. But stay out of my business if you would.
Carry on...I just got my new wetsuit and I'm going out to santa cruz! Ltr.

hahaha, and I was stating mine :-)
Hope u get some good waves, and give us a wetsuit review (in a separate thread) when you get back, I'll be in the market for a 4/3 before winter.
I think I get it... nose template, tail template...
This layout / measuring tool (below) has made a big difference in my shaping, marking for fins, etc. Can't believe I waited so long to get one, now I wouldn't shape without it!
Shapaholic, it's cool you are so into the nuances of creating a surfboard. But you come off as a complete DICK. I've read most of your posts since you started posting here, and your enthusiasm while commendable seems excessive and delusional considering the fact that your experience making boards is at best minimal and I suspect your surfing skills may be on par with those shaping skills. Stand up guys that are the real deal like Barry and Thrailkill should be respected not argued with. You haven't earned the right to argue with them. You are not in their league. You are like the SUP kook who because he can paddle into the surf zone now thinks he should be treated as one of the guys who actually surfs, who has spent their life surfing. It doesn't work that way. Pay your dues. Make more than one board. Don't be that guy who has all the toys and can talk up the specs on all the toys but doesn't use the toys because they have no skills. If you insist on being this guy please dont post like your an expert. One more thing, please dont start with your childish attacks telling me to post up my creations etc., it is what you do everytime someone tries to set you straight. It is so predictable and boring.

Sorry to say that, but YOU are not.

It's the summer young man, you don't need no steenkin' wetsuit man!
Santa Cruz water is the same temp as here, I've been in boardies for weeks.
Sorry Huck, nice board, but I think this thead has derailed and is rolling down the embankment.
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools
...a simple build thread, lol...
