The Oregon Surf Shop in beautiful Lincoln City is for sale! The Oregon Surf Shop is a fun, vibrant, and prominent surf shop on the central Oregon Coast, and has been a centerpoint for the local surf community for years. It is a perfect turnkey business for someone looking to be involved in the surf community and industry, and have a nice change of lifestyle.
We (the owner and employees of the shop) have loved working here at the shop, however life has decided to take the owner a different direction. The current employees (shop manager, clothing buyer and assistant manager, and web guru) are all willing to help out during a transitional period, and then possibly stay on longer depending on pay and other negotiations.
The Oregon Surf Shop is located in the beautiful Nelscott district of Lincoln City, right on Hwy 101. Its neighbors are a well established smokehouse, and restaurant. The Oregon Surf Shop is the oldest surf shop on the Oregon Coast, and has been in operation since 1979! We have dealt with the ongoing hwy 101 construction this summer, which has not helped business by any means, however in the long run, it will make our location much more desirable, and probably one of the nicest locations to own a business in Lincoln City. Our loss is your gain on this.
We specialize in wetsuits, surf accessories, and surfboards. This is the core of our surf shop, and the main reason many people stop by and keep coming back. We also sell lots of clothing, hats, sunglasses, watches, footwear, swimwear, skate gear, and skim and boogie gear. We also do a large amount of rental business, and we have seen a steady growth of that every year. There is also a lot of room for improvement in the rental and lesson department. We also sell a lot of our shop brand clothing, hats and accessories, however there is lots of room for growth in that area.
We have accounts and carry most major surf brands, and have enough pull in the industry to almost get any brand we would like to get. We currently carry Rip Curl, Xcel, O’Neill, Quiksilver, Billabong, Hotline, Body Glove, RVCA, Brixton, Reef, Sanuk, Freewaters, Olukai, Von Zipper, Oakley, Electric, Smith, DaKine, Creatures of Leisure, FCS, Futures, Vissla, and many more. Our major board brands are Rusty, DHD, JS, Firewire, Christenson, Infinity, Pearson Arrow, Takayama, and Russo.
We have 1600 Sq Feet of retail space, as well as a 2500 Sq Foot warehouse that is connected in the back of the building. There is also a garden space that is currently un-utilized, and could be converted into retail space. When you walk into the shop, it is obvious from the beginning that this is one of the nicest shops on the coast, and we pride ourselves on keeping it merchandised properly. We constantly get compliments about how nice our shop is.

Currently, we do all our webwork in house, and all three employees are very well trained and versed on how to run and maintain the website. We can train on how to properly run and maintain the site. The site traffic ramps up in the fall and winter, especially before any major holidays.
Our current hours are 10-6 every day, however in the winter we usually cut hours a bit down because of the slower in store traffic.
