I use this concept with succes on my last personnal board so my mate ask me some.
Start with flat bottom and cut channels to concentrate flow on base of fin. Use performance twin fin template. I add center plug because guy is afraid of sliding, never use twin, but i bet it don't need it. The thin tail acts like a fin when board is on rail, can turn really short. Multiaxial omega springer epoxy foam deck build.
Malibu with a real performance foil, had a Christenson Flatliner next to the me, think it rubbed off on me while shaping this one.

First time using gloss coat, melted my pinlines straight off, sealed them with hot coat next time, worked a charm. Still confusing me what was going on there.
Finished up my second board a week or two ago. Pretty happy with the shape and color work. I still need to work on my laps (spend more time sanding the free laps), fin box installation, and sanding. I follow the FCS install guide to a tee but it seems the boxes end up too deep in the center leading to burn throughs to the foam. I actually used a tongue depressor prior to glassing and pressed all the foam around the boxes down to put them level with the edge of the box. This seemed to help a bit. Take a look and let me know what you think. The logo is from a sticker pack my friend sent me from Italy. There's an artist there who paints street signs (commissioned by the city of Florence). Seemed like a nice touch.
She was shaped after the Lost Minidriver and meant to be a fall/winter board for me to transition to after learning to ride a high volume groveler this summer. It has single concave into double with slight vee out the back. Rails were made to be a little on the aggressive side. Overall I think I nailed the bottom contours.
I took the board out twice - it's my first high-performance(ish) shortboard. I estimate it to be around 35-37 liters. My last board was 43 liters so there is a bit of a learning curve. I'm super impressed with how quick it paddles for it's volume. I was able to get up on the first five waves I paddled for but I'm still learning how to make her go. The second time I took her out was during head high hurricane swell in Jersey (this past Friday). Bummed I didn't catch anything but stoked to learn the leash plug works very well!!
Thanks for reading!
