Has anyone had this experience before, or is it just me?
It's embarrassing to bring up this topic but I can't help but ask a question or two, and hopefully get an answer to my question(s).
I'm a busy guy and I just gave an order for 3 boards to be cut to Josh Darling of Precision Shaping. I had given the same order to Shaper Supply but the files he got from Shaper Supply were damaged. I did not know that Shaper Supply would send them to Precision Shaping - I don't know why he did it.
Last night I investigated the problem on my computer and discovered that Shape3d has a problem
if you import a board that has a large number of cross-sections - the apex control-points become normal and thus you would have to change them back one by one.
So having solved that problem, I gave three files to Josh. He responded by saying, and I quote:
"I am not interested in this project. Thank you for your consideration."
What kind of reponse is that? I was nice enough to troubleshoot the problem and fix it - not that it's a big problem or anything - it isn't, it's trivial. But it's like the guy acts like I'm not someone who he should cut a board for. But I don't think he should act like that.
Now I have to either do it myself or try a 3rd company (I have one in mind).
Is there someone out there making enemies for me? I'm not the type of person who should have enemies, and I've contributed to the BoardCAD community, I just haven't given them all my code yet as my Jython scripts I've shared have been enough for now.
I guess my questions are:
1) Should I try another shop - one that I've dealt with before?
2) Find someone to represent me?
I'm just not sure what to do yet - I've been to 3 shops and none of them have done the job, but it's not like I've done anything that's odd - I acted normally, like anyone would.
But I have work to do and it's not getting done.
Any help appreciated - I'll decide by today how I'll proceed, perhaps the other shop.
