All great questions. I don't represent anyone in the surfing industry or any commercial interests. I am an individual who is trying to understand how the internet is changing surfboard buying. In the near-term no will benefit, but longer-term shapers and buyers could benefit from having a much better way to connect with each other so that everyone comes away from the buying experience happy. Shapers can access a wider audience. Buyers get piece of mind that the board they are buying is right for them. That is it.
happy to post to the results to everyone on this thread. I will do it once I get critical mass. Just started this survey today. Thanks for filling it out.
Wrong forum 'cuz. We are not a retailer's target demographic.
This forum is all about building surfboards, not swapping surf stories or sharing surf trip adventures and such. Most people here build their own equipment. A few people might also buy a custom from a "legends" status shaper on the rare occasion. I wouldn't guess that hardly anyone actually buys boards at retail and probably nobody will buy one online.
Most of the members on this forum - myself included - cannot complete your survey because it contains several questions that do not have an applicable response. In my case there were 6 questions for which the appropriate response was not among the choices.
No. I Can Not Take your Survey. You Suck Mr Jaymo25. Yes,You suck....Please add that to your survey.....the fact that you joined 2 days ago adds to the suck factor.
Shaving my face every morning starting on the right side and working left is a habbit. Always parking my car facing down hill is way past habbit and into ADD....or ADHD or whatever......No One in there right mind has a Surfboard Buying Habit.......thats just dumb...surfboard buying habit....dumb.
I'm not always in my right mind. My keys are always in my right front pocket.Always. Wallet left rear. Front door locked. Every tool put away at the end of the day. Every time..
Couple of quick (simple) questions............Who are you? Who do you represent? Who expects to benefit? What do they/you expect to gain?

Quid pro quo - I just filled it out. Would you be willing to post the results online for everyone to benefit from?
"In the near-term no will benefit..."
Lots of shapers could benefit from this info if shared in an open/public manner.

I did not even click the link.
I bought my last surfboard in 2000, and I only go into surf shops to buy wax, or a rash guard when I have third degree nipple rash.
Wrong forum entirely.
