not sure if it’s of any use to DIY builders, but saw this today on craigslist in ventura
"This is free blocks of styrofoam that used to float our docks. It’s in all different sizes. You cannot cut it here. As you can tell from the outside there was plant and algae growth, but on the inside if looks beautiful. Take as much as you want. A long blade on a saws all works great for cutting this. Just a heads up the Lake will charge you an entry fee of $10 to enter the park which is a small fee if you can use this stuff. "
