Have a question about the cut lap on my second board, on my first board I did a free lap which turned out much the same as this one, showing weave. The lamination went well and the cutting of the lap went well, and I sanded the lap down so there was a smooth transition from lap to bottom. I only sanded the lap like a quarter inch or so toward the rail and blended it in with the bottom. I did my hot coat, I'm using RR epoxy, and now I am sanding the hotcoat but I am showing weave at the cut lap. I have attached a few photos. Question is, am I lapping to far/not far enough around onto the bottom, is my hot coat not thick enough, or should I sand down the lap at more of an angle, feathering it in more before the hotcoat, but this would be getting more into the glass on the lap. Any input would be greatly appreciated, I have search for the forum and I keep finding sand lap flush, maybe I am not sanding enough?
Thanks for any advice or direction,
