In a couple of weeks I will be heading up to Fiberglass Supply to pick up all the materials I need to make myself a custom longboard. I just sold my 10' eps epoxy. My 10' eps taught me what I want and don't want in a longboard.
So here's what I want:
Lenght 9'6" - 10'+? (1. I'm really unsure what a good length would be for a noserider)
Poly,EPS? - (2. Also unsure of which way to go on this? my last eps was very corky. Maybe poly would be better?)
Nose concave - (3. I'm not sure if this is neccesary for a noserider or if it is preference.
Also I plan to model this board off of a G&S shape that I really love. Squared tail and blunted nose! (4. I could really use some input on the dims from those who know. When templating a longboard are there another set of measurements off the nose and tail past the standard 12"?)
I have a few weeks before I can make the trip to pick up supplies. In the mean time I'm off to buy some template material.
Rail shape? (5. I understand that the classic longboards were 50/50 all the way through? I've also read on here a lot of guys end the 50/50 at mid and run 60/40 through the tail?
Bottom Contours - (6. I'm thinking a flat as possible hull, besides the nose, for speed and glide. Am I on the right track here?)
Well I think that is a good start for nailing this down and dailing it in. Much thanks in advance for everyones input! Thanks.
