Chopper Gun

A method of building molded boat hulls, which uses a sort of spray gun. The gun is fed resin ( usually polyester in the US) plus catalyst, single-strand fiberglass roving ( basicly, long lengths of fin rope) and compressed air. The gun chops the roving into short pieces, mixes in catalysed resin and sprays the result into a mold. As the fiberglass strands are quite short, this can be a relatively heavy boat for its strength or a weak boat in general. Not something you'd want to use for a surf craft, though if you were making molds i'd be pretty good.
