PAIPO: a thin, relatively short surfcraft that is ridden prone, usually with swim fins. It may be the ancestor of all surfcraft as well as the fastest. May or may not have fins, can be made of something a simple as a sheet of plywood cut to shape or as complex as a vaccum-bagged carbon fiber item with angled 'wings' and a channel bottom in lieu of fins. Also have been referred to as 'bellyboards' and such.

Are bodyboards paipos? Well, sort of, but both camps seem happy to keep them separate.
