Stringer Support

A bit slow off the mark here but about scouring the stringer for better adhesion, all efforts to bond resin/mat combo to board generally are plus factors assumming things such as weight increase are not radical. As everybody knows wood is porous. The rougher the surface the better the bond.Problem is it may look crappy if you dig into the stringer directly at the top.We have had very good results by running a small groove along either side of the stringer ( top/bottom) and glassing in a single line of roving.(Fin roving). This is easy to do and can be donebefore or during the laminating process.Same can be done about 2inches in from the rails.I'm not saying it stops breakage but it certainly does reduce this happening on properly laminated boards.Hey give it a go. Minimal cost involved, minimal effort required.Ya never know.
