Well, if you know the real facts about the Aku machine and you take a look at the website you will laugh, its a fair dinkum pack of misleading info. It is still not reliable and costs alot. APS with Shape3D is the way I would go no doubt, you really get better cuts (when using Shape3D), more reliable, cheaper too.
It seems your software issue could be a commercial crime. I hope they are able to fix it for you, I don't see why not??? you payed for it, you still have the machine, and most importantly, you need it. Don't matter how good or average the software might be.
What's up guys?? at least give a reason to "meanshapes".
Maybe it was just a mistake or something went wrong with the file server?
yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me.. yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me!!!!!!!!!!!!
I smell something stinky!!!
keep on rockin in the free world!
This situation is BULLSH*T, its hard enough to keep things going in the surfboard business right now and this crap has essentially shut us down. When someone pays $12K for something up front, where is the right to take it away? Can't access files for custom boards, can't send PDF's to customers, can't get boards cut. I'm ready to lose it, this is thievery and what is the reason? WTF did we do to him? Meanshapes is being a lot nicer than I feel like being after getting the rug pulled out from under us...
Actually I think it was more like $14000USD but I gave them a 2k benefit of the doubt discount since I still haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS in a FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLDDDDDDDEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Not sure if you have heard of Hula the Aku which converts Aku files back to APS3000 files or if this even makes any difference to your predicament (I'm not a machine owner I just have the boards machined). My only other suggestion would be keep your computers off the net but you probably learnt this one the hard way anyway.
a smart pissed off man would include 'aku' keywords
in each of these daily diary posts so that they would bubble
up higher in a google search.
For instance 'aku' w/o the word 'shaper' would be a no-go.
On another note, I went to your website and it looks like
you were making CNC shaping machines. Any chance these guys
thought you were distributing their software with them?
-- What say you?
What is interesting is that their software is a fusion of what was requested by the many... Updates are created due to requests and issues.. So who really has the rights to the software? I say the shapers/designers that made the requests to improve the software.. I have recorded conversation between me and little bird as far as what we needed to be a winner.. So do we as machine owners really own the rights to the software? After all we helped develop it! Should we patent all the info we gave to lil bird?
