Cinese boards posing as Americans is inexcusable. Americans posing as ignorant racist bastards is equally inexcusable. 6 days till x-mas, in case you lost track of your calender. Drew
I feel its racisim for chinks to put American Boardsworks on their chopsticks so they can sell them to uneducated beginners, its the shops fault for buying the crap too. When they sell their crap and put americans out of business what do you call that?? What goes around comes around , Boardworks has already gone out of business, I have heard someone is trying to get them started up again, I hope they fail, bunch of sell outs. Anyway to the guy married to the Korean, to each his own I have no beef with her or you, Im married to a drunk, american indian. The best way to fight the imports is to build the best quality, hottest AB, coolest sticks and to educate the public abut them. The imports cant touch that.
MKIA, you're an idiot. Last time I checked, there were plenty of "slanteye" surfers ripping it up in Hawaii. Maybe you should paddle out and share your views with some of them?
Hey MKIA, just a couple of points. Boardworks is not working out of China. By far, most companies doing business out of China are *American* companies. 60% of all Exports from China are American companies exploiting the cheap labor. Your, fucking, ignorant statements are a true value of what America has become. Ignorant servents looking through childs eyes. I'd ride a Ben Aipa boardwork, anyday, before I'd ride a MKIA. Your a hazard to humanity.
First of all, a question. Is Boardworks, the company founded by a bunch of top shapers to produce epoxy laminate versions of the shapers boards, the same as Amercian Boardworks? http://www.boardworkssurf.com/ I know one of the shapers involved in Boardworks, their production is in Slovakia and not China, but the shapers are really just interested in taking a hand in the epoxy laminate board production. Surfboard materials are moving forward, and these shapers are being a part of this change, instead of being negative about it and resisting. These people are different from Surftech, even if the production techniques are similar. Besides, each shape is going to be a classic production shape from a long-time experienced shaper. They don't do custom boards.
Blakstah, your answer is no, boardworks is like surftech. American Boardworks is regular poly/glass with a logo thats shipped into the US via the far east. http://www.surfboardglassing.com
whoa!! 1. Thanks for the info 2. Thanks for the majority of people who are not blazing racists 3. Putting "American Boardworks" on an imported sweatshop board is shameful
Here in NY there are alot of the "Challanger. Surfboards Australia ect" boards that are made in China. I've got friends that have bought these boards. For the money they are perfect for the beginner , I've taken them out and they are great to ride. They do seem to fill a need here, as a first board they are great then the surfing community tells them what crap they are and they go buy a production board off the rack which in my view isn't that much better than the china brands as I've seen the chinese funshapes out live most rusty and al merrik midsize boards. It seems that everybody that I've seen start on these boards and continue surfing have all stepped up to your sacred soul filled custom shaped pieces of Americana. All my boards are domestic custom boards but I'm recommending the china board as a beginner board. Without the far east there would be no way you would be on this internet voicing your racist ways go back to american made pen and paper and bitch amung yourselves.
Some of you guys should check your facts. Boardworks it owned by a guy named Craig Cooper. He is from Louisiana and does not surf or care about surfing. As for old shapers being the ones using the company some are and some are phonies like Yancey Spencer who is not a surfboard shaper and is only in it because he can put up $2500.00 to purchase the mold then steal or use another shapers shapes that he buys for $230.00 shorty and $300.00 for a longboard then doubles his money and says they are his reputable shape. I know some other shapers who thought the quality was crap and opted out only to have Spencer buy their molds and put his name on them. Ask Jeff from M10 about it. It's all about money and cheesy surfshop owners who want to pretend to be famous so they can rape uneducated beginners. What I can't figure out is why the surfing public who know the difference in real shapers have not tuned up about this stuff. What's going to happen when these shapers designs end up in SAms wholesale or worse? You want someones shaper and your a surfshop owner. You go buy one have it copied send it to Boardworks and there you have it. With your own logo on it. Christian fish and all. Just a thought.
