thats insane bro. polishing fins?...luckily if the sand falls off befor my next surf. i dont even wash my boards down after a surf. i think its all crap, and overall ur just wasting ur time, and the water the runs on the board. opnly toweling off is befor it comes in the house, or needs to be fixed. dj
yea take care of your boards don't worpship them for GOD sake!!!!! matt
Polishing your fins before each session?...sure its a bit excessive, and people are bound to say something. But whats the big deal, if we cant have fun with our little differences were all gonna turn into a bunch uptight sissies. Coments, ...cheap shots and such are healthy and nessecary; within reason of course. The hard part, i guess, is staying halfway-reasonable. Besides if you deal them out they come back, so no one wins anyway. Again not a big deal. I never heard the end of it for leaving resin outside in the rain on this site, so what. ANd anyway fin polishing, what does that entail, 500 grit or a nudey mag?
I agree with swaylock and apoligize to dan.i have many times ,looked at my boards for hours on end.I just enjoy the humor here sometimes that's all my remarks were meant to be.sorry if I offended anyone.[smile]
Naughty Boys !!!! nudie mag lol.......lmao rolling off the chair .......head exploding!!!!!!! http://www.geocities.com/wunderboyi/ninetysixpercent.html
Hehehe, its cool that everyone expresses their views. Personally what i posted was mostly BS! I DO love my board and I take as good a care of it as i can. Only having one board (shaping a new one though) and being a poor student means that my board means a hell of a lot to me. Surfing is one of the few things in life that gives me such pleasure so its no wonder if i keep my kit in good nick. If you don't thats cool too, I just want my board to be good as new everytime i surf. Just to get the record straight I Live in the UK and I shape my own boards, but I am at university inland so i don't get to surf that often but my board has to live in my room (lots of polishing time! hehe) And when I posted that first message the other day i had been in the pub for hours and so was missing the sea. I think this site is one of the best going so keep it up and keep up the free expression. Have fun, dan
the serious ,the comical ,and the just plain stupid ,,,this place has it all ...the guy with 35 boards and 1 wife has the right combo ... boards are way better than girls boards dont get jealous if you look at another board....your boards dont complain when you ride another board.... boards dont make a fuss when you offer your buddy a ride....if your board doesnt perform you can go buy a new one...you can run your hands over another board without guilt ....your board wont judge you if you kook out...if you ever neglect your board it wont keep reminding you ...boards dont have bad days (weeks months years)...you can take your board on a surf trip without having to bring a toilet and a kitchen sink.... i bet you guys can add to this from some other angles.... regards BERT
In regards to my earlier post about "Dry Land Crosstepping"...be aware that by doing this you run the risk of cutting Mom's carpet with the fin and newer lightweight longboards may get deck dents.Better to put it on the bed before trimming down that "That Long Point Wave".Be aware of ceiling fans as they can rudely interrupt an otherwise great session.
Been there before but with light fittings... take what you get when you're so far from the sea... Have fun, Dan
Boards and women are fun to lay on!...Beatiful ones just demand to be held... Sorry, these and more where pinging around in my head last night, after i read this thread. Glad someone beat me to the punch on the comparisons. Any one else care to contribute?
