Discussions of the "Gemini" double-pointy tip nose design have popped up and I feel I must say: I feel REAL strongly against these, which have been showing up far too often in the lineup. First, they are unnecessarily dangerous for NO increase in performance. The two points offer no advantage over a solid square nose- think about it: if that part is in play, it's already too late- you've pearled! If you want a longer straight nose rail-line with more area, just go square nose. (I have made funboards with the solid square nose and they give this benefit (?) without danger). Second, these are a needless danger to yourself and other innocent riders. I've known many surfers who've been hit by their nose or others- this design doubles the chance of getting seriously injured. Last, having two weapon points in the front has made attitudes of riders of these atrocious- they hog every wave thinking they are immune to water courtesy since everyone else backs away from their nose weapons. I'm about ready to duck tape some foil points on to my boards nose and paddle out to make a point to these @#$! jerks. I call them "Forky Pigs". Say "NO" to these guys in the lineup. I mean, why not just resin on razor blades next?!
