yea the poly bonds no problem coz its a sanded surface ,you do have to make sure the epoxy is fully cured tho or else you get sticky spots..... the poly is way easier to cut and you get a harder crispier shine .where as the epoxy is a little harder to fine sand coz its a little more rubbery ,it also scratches easier as a finished product.... hey rich sorry i havent got back to you yet, i been away for about 5 days showing a few american friends the coast down here.... ok im out regards BERT
Go surfin' Bert! Get back to me when you have the time and are inclined too. I hope to get in the shaping room on Tuesday. It depends on the master's schedule when I start mowin' foam though. Good-on-ya, Rich
Ive just hotcoated 2 boards with Resin research epoxy. The resin seems great, sands easy but and am frustrated with the tape line pull and, resin drain from the rails.
when i pull poly tape on the hotcoat at the gel stage i can get a clean line, but with the epoxy it sort of goos back at the deck, kind of messy... what can i do to improve the situation.
Should i add the accelerator to the batch of hotcoat to reduce run offf from the rails.
Also, would waiting a week for a cure help reduce scratching if i was shooting for a high gloss finish
