I'm about to shape my second alaia.
I did the first one with belly under the nose. I thought that leaving more material (and thus flotation) would help avoid digging the nose, besides adding a bit of extra paddling power.
I'm tempted now in taking the single concave all the way up to the nose, say, 3 inches from the tip.
what should I expect in therms of preformance?
is it possible that adding concave at the nose of an alaia would create a similar effect of lift that a spoon concave does on a noserider ?
